So...*thinks*...what is it about the world, that so many things tend to go wrong all at once? I've already commented on my windshield...this morning, my car actually died.

I was driving to work, and it....DIED.

No gas, no brakes, no nothing.

NO BRAKES.

Do you have any idea how scary that is??

Luckily the traffic was moving nicely enough, so I was able to coast down from about 45 MPH, up onto a sidewalk, and crank the emergency brake at about 15 MPH. I was about a mile from work, so I walked the rest of the way, and then back again, while wearing these hugely tall platform clogs, to wait for the tow-truck. The tow-truck guys were amazed that I put the car on the sidewalk, but to me, it seemed the logical thing to do, to get it out of the way of the rest of the morning commuters. So now it's hopefully sitting at the dealership, waiting to be looked at by the car-doctor, and I'll find out later today if it's worth fixing, or if it needs to be put to sleep.
