I'll try to keep this short...
Friday, we had Jim and Amanda over for dinner. I tried a new Honey Glazed Stir Fry recipe that came out okay, but the glaze was too light. Luckily I had some hoisin (sp?) sauce that helped to add flavor after the fact. We watched the most recent Die Hard flick and then they went home. He heads back out on Thursday, I think, so we need to find one more time to get together to at least say goodbye. *sad*
Saturday, for my class, I watched a Japanese film called Ugetsu that was absolutely WONDERFUL. It made me cry, which is saying something for a subtitled film, heh. Go. Rent. Now. It's time well spent. If I say anything else about it, I'll spoil it for you. It does contain content that will cause kids to ask questions, though, so it's best watched with only adults. Plus, with the subtitles, you'll spend half the movie reading them out loud, which kind of ruins the effect, heh. After the movie, I showered and went through more fabric....only one more box to sort, yay! Saturday afternoon, Brenna had a soccer game (they won!) and then Saturday night, we went to a coworker's house for stew and some Wii Sports. Fun! The guy whose house it was has helped us with Chiefs games for the Young Marines, and his girlfriend was there, too, and she'd helped as well. They are Good People.
Sunday morning, I spent some time doing homework, then hit the grocery store. After lunch, Brenna and I went to the mall to spend some of our Christmas money, and I came home with a few new outfits that I'm anxious to wear. Wish the diet had been followed these last few weeks, though, as I'm definitely squishier around the middle than I want to be. *bleh.* But, ehh, cute jackets can still be worn. :) I'd thrown some chicken into the crockpot before we went to the mall, so dinner was just about done by the time we got home. Chris was doing some work from home, so after dinner he disappeared into the basement to finish writing out some code, and I got back to work on the homework. Got a paper written and posted, so I feel good about that. We ended the night with some snuggling, which was a nice way to wrap up the weekend. :)
Tonight I'm hoping to finish sorting the fabric, as tomorrow's Young Marines...I need-NEED to finish with the fabric, as we've still not put Christmas stuff away and the fabric is taking up almost all of the floor space in the living room, heh. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. ;)
Well, back to work...woooo.
